The Tempio Greco Synagogue keeps the Jewish spirit alive in Corfu. It’s a yellow stucco structure with a gabled roof. It was erected in the 18th century. A plaque was added to the interior in the summer of 2002, which keeps the memory of abused Corfu’s Jews alive. It was brought 58 years after a massive deportation. The sanctuary is located on the upper floor. The Jewish population in Corfu is small these days, yet you can still find a few shops. Moreover, there are certain streets recording the Jewish past with their names. There were more synagogues in Corfu before World War 2.
