Spianada is the largest square in Greece. It is located in the central part of the city, close to the Old Fortress. The construction was finished during the French occupation. It represents a main meeting point for those who live in Corfu, but also for tourists and all kinds of local services. It is wide and extremely popular among photographers. It is surrounded by cafés, restaurants, shops and a park. Given its central location, most tourists end up visiting this place anyway, even if they do not actually plan it. A large parking lot is available nearby for even more convenience.
