Known as the most famous church in Corfu, the Saint Spyridon Church just cannot be missed. It is located in the heart of the old town and it houses the relics of Saint Spyridon. The building was erected in the 1580s as a single nave basilica. Its bell tower is the highest in the Ionian islands. For this reason, plenty of professional photographers use it for beautiful panoramic pictures of Corfu. Once inside, you will find a crypt, as well as the remains of Saint Spyridon in a double sarcophagus. It is worth knowing that his slippers are changed on a regular basis.
