The Paleopolis Archaeological Museum is only the introduction to the detailed exploration of an ancient site that might take a few good hours. This place is also known as the ancient city of Corfu. It was established in the 8th century by Dorian Greeks from Korinth and their ruler Chersikrates. Apart from the actual museum, you can also check out the ruins of temples, towers, baths and other constructions. Unfortunately, the ruins cannot always be visited. Also, you will be intrigued to find out that a private property in the area hosts a lemon eucalyptus tree that is 900 years old. No one knows how it got there, as it only grows in Australia.
