The Early Christian Basilica is located at the entrance to Paleopoli. You will basically find some ruins. What draws immediate attention is the size of this place. It looks amazing as it rises from a bautiful field and cannot be ignored. It was build around 450AD, but it has faced multiple invasions. It was destroyed a few times in its long history. It was rebuilt twice, but the latest bombardments from World War II put most of it down again. Today, you can hang around the ruins and imagine what the religious place used to look like hundreds of years ago.
