Corfu is renowned for its impressive and colourful festivals. Some of them stand out in the crowd. Besides, no matter where you are on the island, you will most likely be close to a celebration, as they are scattered all over it. The most appreciated ones involve carrying Saint Spyridon’s relics throughout the old town, as well as the Easter.

The Holy Saturday is before Easter and Saint Spyridon’s relics will be carried around the streets in the old town.
The same kind of festival will be held on the Palm Sunday.
The Orthodox Easter is celebrated at the end of April or the beginning of May. It is famous all across the world, mostly because of the local style to throw red pots from their windows. It is a unique celebration that no other place in Greece has.

The 8th of May is not to be overlooked either, as it brings in a local festival celebrating Virgin Mary in Kassiopi.
