Old Perithia is probably the best preserved village on the island. It is literally suspended in time. It is located on the northern side of the island, just under Mount Pantokratoras. Although the oldest records date back to the 14th century, the village is said to have been inhabited centuries before. The village was once inhabited by around 1200 people. It was known to be among the wealthiest villages in Corfu. As you visit it, you can still admire old houses, cobbled streets and a warm atmosphere. It also provides beautiful views to the sea. There are a few amenities on site too, such as places to eat and sleep.
