The Panagia of Xenon Church was built by priest Nicodemos. His main goal was to establish a religious settlement for refugees from Epirus. Plenty of them came to the area during the Ottoman domination due to the harsh persecutions. The ceiling is one of the most attractive parts of this church, while the chancel screen is among the best known gold plated models on the island. It was renovated in 1875. The Riza Iessai icon is not to be overlooked either, not to mention the tri-aisle royal style of the building. Although small, the church is full of history and spirituality.
